Ashaway Racket Strings has fine-tuned its Dynamite® line of tennis strings with the addition of Dynamite 17 Natural, which is designed to provide an optimum combination of power and durability. Dynamite 17 Natural's Zyex® multifilament core balances toughness and touch with exceptional tension holding characteristics to offer a string that plays and feels more like natural gut.

Ashaway, RI - Ashaway Racket Strings has fine-tuned its Dynamite^® line of tennis strings with the addition of Dynamite 17 Natural, which is designed to provide an optimum combination of power and durability. Dynamite 17 Natural's Zyex^® multifilament core balances toughness and touch with exceptional tension holding characteristics to offer a string that plays and feels more like natural gut.

"Recent advances in material technology have produced Zyex filaments that are even finer and stronger than before," said Steve Crandall, Ashaway's Vice President. "We've been able to use these to customize our core packages, and fine-tune our Dynamite string line to maximize specific playing characteristics for different gauges. Overall, Zyex core packages produce thinner, stronger, lighter-weight strings that provide superior feel, more power, and improved ball control."

The Zyex core packages of Dynamite 17 Natural's sister strings, Dynamite 16 Tough and Dynamite 18 Soft, are likewise optimized, Crandall explained. For example, Dynamite 16 Tough utilizes a special, multi-stranded Zyex monofilament construction that maximizes durability and string life. Dynamite 18 Soft, on the other hand, uses a much finer core filament package to maximize softer feel and resilience.

Dynamite 17 Natural has been engineered to optimize power and resilience, providing a softer string bed with both excellent grip and feel, and the power to hit deep, fast shots. The multifilament Zyex core maintains tension throughout the playing life of the string, and a specially woven surface braid helps maximize control and increase ball spin. Dynamite 17 Natural is designed for top professional and amateur players looking for consistent performance and good durability but a bit more feel and better ball control, characteristics typically associated with natural gut.

Optical green in color, Dynamite 17 Natural is a 1.25 mm string (17 gauge) available in 40 ft. sets (12 m) and 360 ft. reels (110 m). Because of the tension holding properties of Zyex, Ashaway recommends stringing Dynamite 17 Natural at approximately 10-15% less than normal tension, up to a maximum of 60 lbs.
